Garbage. Got an alternator overhauled and it was dead on arrival. They asked for the voltage regulator as well and it was brand new operating correctly with good field voltage as per tech pubs. It came back with a repaired field and a completely dead voltage regulator. When asked they said oh, it was dead when we got it. Send the regulator back to plane power and was told the voltage adjustment screw pot was broken due to Aerotech. We had to foot the bill for a new regulator. Aerotech does not care about your problems or issues. They do half assed repairs and you get units that do not hold up. Get one from the parts store re-manufactured in Mexico if you want something that will last longer than anything Aerotech sells. I have been doing this for 30 years now and their stuff is junk. I have no idea why the quality took a nose dive but it did and they have an attitude about everything you question. Look on Aircraft Spruce for reviews.

I purchased one of these Garbage overhauled alternators for a Cessna 172, the unit failed in 4 months and just over 400hrs. I have 5 of these aircraft and the other OH facility alternators have been going strong for literally thousands of hours. With absolutely no troubles. Some going back to 1999. When I returned it for warranty they told be they only warranty their units for 1 year or 250hrs. Absolute rubbish and if I could give them less than 1 star I would. If the alternator in my car only lasted 400hrs they would have a recall on them people would go insane. Let alone an aircraft. This alternator failed in flight and we had a complete electrical failure. They know how bad they are so their warranties are sure to cover only a minimum of time before you have no recourse. 650 bucks down the drain. Absolute Garbage.

Hey y'all had a "great conversation with the owner/president of Aerotech" the alternator company this morning. He likes to yell and scream too... might be high blood pressure issues... .... "sarcasm".... I ordered a warranty replacement alternator last Tuesday morning at 0815 am... As of today 0803am.. I called to get a update on where it was............... I was then informed they just shipped it yesterday.... Meanwhile i have a AOG... thats been stranded waiting for this part. "The third replacement btw" "still under warranty" I suggest you spend the extra bit of money on a better part. Stay clear of AEROTECH IN KY!

I got a rebuilt gear-driven alternator from Aerotech for my Columbia 400 in April 2024, which looked like it was brand new and worked well. After a couple of months it was not carrying the load when I used the electric AC, and Aerotech offered one-day turnaround if I sent it back with the elastomeric clutch attached so they could test it also. This kind of service is unheard of in the aviation world! Mike was super helpful and called me a few hours after they received the alternator. A pair of diodes in the alternator were blown so they replaced those and quickly shipped it out. The alternator works great and more importantly I have found a wonderful shop that will handle all my starter and alternator rebuilds from now on. Aerotech has my highest recommendation.

The staff at Aerotech are all helpful and reasonable. I am concerned there is a quality control issue in their rebuild shop for starters. I have replaced my starter with an Aerotech rebuilt starter three times. Each time it fails within about six months. They are very fair, and they will exchange the starter, and after they evaluate it, it is at no cost. However, it cost me downtime, The cost to mail a core back, each time, and the cost of having the mechanic remove the defective starter and then install a new one. I would love to continue to do business with them if their quality control improves in the future.
