I called ahead to confirm they could work on my outboard motor, and they assured me they could. When I dropped it off, I explained the issue and requested a carburetor rebuild. A few days later, I received a call saying a major engine part needed replacing. This surprised me because I had checked the compression beforehand and it was fine. Still, I trusted their assessment and ordered the part online using the number they provided. After delivering the part, I got another call saying they had given me the wrong part number and that they couldn’t repair my outboard. When I picked it up, they waived the diagnostic fee, but I noticed the idle screw was missing. After removing the cowl, I found the air intake, spark plugs, choke knob, and idle screw were all gone. These were eventually handed to me in a box, even though they were installed when I dropped it off. Overall, I feel I was given the runaround, and my outboard was in worse condition when I picked it up than when I brought it in. I had heard good things about Arts Marine, so this experience was very disappointing.

Worst service I have ever experienced. Took boat in for maintenance, told them about problem with the way outboard was running. I picked it up paid charge and trailered it back. Put boat in water, same problem. Call them, they hadn’t even looked at what might be wrong with outboard. Trailer boat back to them, they leave it sitting in lot entire month of July until battery dies then tell me they can’t fix. Put it back in the water with new battery now it won’t start at all. They suggest I trailer it back to their shop. Right…

Super disappointing interaction from Arts today. I asked for a part. They looked up the price. It was almost $200 more than the same part from the manufacturer. I know this because I just spoke them. The arrogant sales clerk tried to tell me that my info was incorrect, that the price I quoted was wholesale, and that no one would sell it to me at the price I was quoted. When I tried to discuss how he was mistaken, he gave me the silent treatment. So I hung up. The one star review is for talking down to me, for poorly informed about the price and markup of the item in question and for being childish enough to give me the silent treatment. I have been a customer for nearly 40 years. I'll never shop there again.
