It's me again. No, this is not a repeat. I sold my C177 and upgraded to a C182P. I had such a great experience with Jim and the team the first time I went back for seconds. This was a significant upgrade. The plane had the original avionics except for a Stratus ADSB-Out Transponder, a PS Engineering Audio Panel, and a GNC 355 GPS/Comm. The plan was to move to a (all Garmin) G3X touch, with engine data, G5 for backup. Gizmo mount for my Aera 660 (co-pilot side), GNC 255 Nav/Com, a USB charge with clock/timer, and a Garmin GFC 500 autopilot with three-axis autopilot. It ended up being more than that (shocking). 1. Jim had a GTX345. They are hard to come but, since he had one, I said, "I'll take it". So new ADSB in/out transponder that ties in with all my Garmin gear. Also, since he had it, I had him put Whelen LED lights all around. I also added a new SIRs Compass (I could see the original very well). Jim and Jay did excellent work; as usual, Jim was very good at communicating and keeping me informed along the way, with a few pictures sent to keep me excited. It took longer than anticipated to complete. But that was more on me than them as I kept adding things. Also, when they were doing the fuel calculations, they found a leak in one of my bladders. I had planned on changing them out next annual, but since there was a leak, I had them both replaced, all new senders, seals, gaskets, etc. That probably cost a month but worth the time. Ultimately, I feel like I have a new airplane. The AutoPilot is "magic"! Comms are clear; the GPS works great, and the Xponder brings traffic and weather into the cockpit. The situational awareness is off the charts. And I lost 20 pounds during the process. We moved from Utah to NC while the upgrade was happening. I got to fly behind the new panel across the country when I ferried the plane. It was worth every penny. Speaking of pennies. Yes, it will cost a few... All this said Jim, Jay, and the FlightDeck team at Provo are phenomena

While on an overnight trip into SLC (South Valley Regional) I had an avionics malfunction in my experimental Glasair III. It being a Saturday, I was stuck for the weekend. First thing Monday morning I called Flight Deck Avionics and explained my dilemma to Jared. He told me they were backed up with about 3 weeks of work but said he understood my challenge and that I could not wait around for 3 weeks. He said he would see if he could free up someone to come look at my bird. A few hours later, Jared himself showed up, worked his magic and got my plane back up to speed. GREAT SERVICE and reasonable price given the circumstances. THANKS, JARED! BZ to all the folks at Flight Deck Avionics!

Matt was great to work with and the install he helped me choose was the cheaper route but still a great option for my purposes.
