Professional and welcoming. I can highly recommend this flight school for anyone looking to get into aviation. Their aircraft are modern, well maintained, and instructors have the right attitude - open and welcoming to all questions. Exactly the right place to learn to fly. Jenn (owner) was a pleasure to speak with and schedule our Discovery flight. We know good business when we see it and this is no exception! Happy flying to all who choose Great Basin Aviation.

I came in from out of town and Jennifer was able to help organize a familiarization/scenic flight in a short matter of time. I flew a beautifully maintained 172 equipped with a G1000 with Jake helping me out. We flew down to South Lake Tahoe and back, giving me the ability to take it all in from 10,000 feet. Before the flight, I got to sit on some of the CFis and students chatting away. Lovely folks who are passionate about aviation. Great experience! I plan on coming back to learn how to fly the taildragger.

I’m currently a student at Great Basin Aviation, and my experience so far has been excellent. The staff is extremely helpful and supportive, especially for students who are still early in their flight training. They offer detailed ground school supplements that do a great job reinforcing what you learn in the air, and they’re also a great way to get to know other students and build connections. Everyone is approachable, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in helping students succeed as pilots. I’m very glad I chose to train here and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to start flight training

I can not recommend Great Basin enough. It is an incredible place to learn to fly where the instructors are knowledgeable, patient, and invested in helping you become a confident pilot. The friendly faces in the office always give me something to look forward to. I’ve been training with Lucas, and he’s been an outstanding instructor. He is always supportive, clear, and encouraging, and pushes me in a good way. He takes the time to explain everything thoroughly and makes each lesson both challenging and enjoyable. His dedication to my success has made a huge difference in my training.

I had a lot of fun during my time here. Eric was an amazing instructor to me. You definitely need to take this seriously, just take it from me, someone who got almost a hundred hours and getting only 2/3 the way to my ppl... it takes effort, save all you can before hand and get your written done before you start.
