Took my boat into the shop for the following reasons: 1. Look at trailer guide boards and secure wood to frame better - Said they would do it, but was not done. 2. Look at trailer lights and fix issue with lights flickering - was told it works fine, and it still doing the same thing. 3. Fix broken reflector on trailer - glued cheapest looking reflector you could imagine and it’s even crooked. But no big deal. I’ll fix it. 4. Make sure all boat speakers were working properly and fix if needed - was told they’d do it, never happened. They said when I came to pick up the boat that they don’t do that. So still have the same problem. 5. Check pontoons for leaks - they said they checked for leaks. They said there was an obvious leak in the middle pontoon (it’s a tritoon) due to water being inside. It rained and water went through the upper hatch in the floor of the boat. They said the bilge pump inside the pontoon wasn’t working. I ask them to fix it and they said I need to get the leak fixed and the water drained before they would do it. Come to find out from a different shop there was no leak, they just didn’t want to siphon the water out and replace the bilge pump. 6. Fix bilge pump (see #5) 7. Perform engine maintenance to ensure everything is working properly - Changed gear oil and said that it needs a fuel additive to clean some carbon in the motor. They said it comes in a case of either 6 or 8 bottles. I was charged for the whole case and they only used 1 bottle and then told me they placed the other bottles in the boat. Got home. Nothing. It’s ok if they don’t do certain things but done say you do if you don’t. Maybe they should say they will only work on engines. Anyways here is the real reason for the 1 star review. I wish I could give 0 stars. When I parked my boat and trailer at the shop, there was absolutely no damage to the trailer, with the exception of 1 reflector as mentioned earlier. When I picked up my boat and took it home, I realized it had

DO NOT TAKE YOUR BOAT HERE!!! They do sloppy AND expensive work! I should have done more research before I brought my boat here to get winterized last year. They charged me almost $700 for the service when other marinas charge about 50% of that. All things considered, not ideal but not the end of the world. This spring however, they messed up their service with my boat in every way imaginable. I brought it there to get dewinterized and ready for the season 2 weeks before I intended to use it. They let me know that my shifter cable needed replacement and it had a leak in one of the cooling tubes. I said sure go ahead and make the fix. I didn’t hear from them for a week so I called in and they stated that they got the wrong part for the cooling tube fix and needed more time. I waited another week (and missed my planned opening day) and never heard from them so I called in again. They said the part was unavailable and they would have to call the manufacturer directly to get the part. I waited another week and never heard from them so I called in again. My boat had been there 3 weeks at this point. They said they weren’t able to get the part “but the leak wasn’t that bad anyways” so I could come get the boat. Seems like they were just trying to make a couple extra bucks. I have a mercruiser 5.0 engine in my boat. Not exactly a rare motor type for parts to be unavailable. I then picked up my boat 30 minutes after I told them I’d be coming by and it took almost a half hour to get my boat back out from the back of their yard because so many boats were in front of it. They had to move 5 boats to get mine out. Again, not the biggest deal in the world, but not ideal. I finally got my boat out on the water that weekend and guess what? It didn’t start!!!! It had a dead battery. The one thing I actually brought it in for they didn’t even do. On top of that, my Bimini had a pole broken on it that was 100% not broken when I brought it in (I take diligent care of the boat) and th

Great Lakes Marine is awesome! We've always gotten great service and they take care of our boat like it was their own. Kellen and his staff are the best. Thank you!

You're a fool if you take anything to these folks. What they did to me was so down-right wrong! They've have had my boat 5 mo, and promised me next week for 5 mo. This is on top of waiting 3wks to get it in to begin with. I tried to take it out in order to take it to an appointment I had at an other shop to get the enclosure done. The man that answers the phone told me he'll get on it right away. He'll have it done, he said. That was a month ago. So, I called today to find out what the status is. He tells me he's slammed! He was rude, disrespectful, and told me to go get my boat and take it somewhere else. He told me it will be outside his yard, but wanted payment for whatever work he claimed he did. So, at this point I'd say I was extorted for $296! He made me pay for him throwing my boat out of his shop and claims he worked on it, but told me someone else needs to work on it. That's kind of wierd. This guy is a cheat! He's a rude, man, horrible person, and you're a fool if you go anywhere near this place! I was mistreated AND cheated. Wow!...
