  I made an appt for my 23’ bowrider; seasonal service and a couple extra items to look at. Dropped off the boat on time and got it back just short of one month. They didn’t start working on it for two weeks. Seasonal service was completed but for other work, wrong parts were ordered and it was not repaired/replaced. They were apologetic for the delays (we are really busy) and did make minor discounts on the bill. After taking my boat, I found an aft bench support laying unattached on the deck. I brought it back to them for it to be reinstalled, which they did and apologized. After I got the boat back to the garage, I realized they only got the screws partially installed and I have to finish tightening it. Minor, but just another bad detail. They have done good work for us before, but this time being busy prevented good work from being done!

  I have a 36" steel hulled trawler that lives at the Oakland Yacht Club in Alameda. I became aware of J & H Marine when I contacted their lead mechanical tech (Jim Fitch) about doing a pre-purchase inspection on our boat. Subsequent to Jim's survey and after we purchased the boat, my wife and I delivered the boat up to Stockton for some updating and repairs. The scope of work included repairing a non-running Northern Lights generator, updating the electrical system, adding some tank monitoring, and paint correction on the starboard hull. The work was done in a timely manner and the final invoice was very close to the original estimate. Eric and his team are true professionals and the communication from the yard is unmatched. After leaving the yard, I have had several occasions to reach out to Eric with questions and he has been very willing to take my call immediately or call me back in a timely fashion. I'm sure that there are many good boatyards in the bay/delta, but I will be returning to J & H Marine for all future maintenance and repair issues. I am only allowed to give 5 stars here, but I would gladly give 10 stars if I could! Thank you to Eric and his crew for taking such great care of our boat and taking such great care of us as customers.
