Portsmouth Boating Center is amazing. Privately owner operated and excellent customer service. We went there after an internet search because they have a travel lift wide enough to haul our power catamaran . I requested a quote for bottom paint and upon arrival I learned that the price given was only for one coat. They explained up front that the cost would be more dependant on how many gallons of paint and labor to paint it. I had other projects to do while the boat was on the hard and the employees and owner went above and beyond to help and give me advice..they even loaned me a few tools. The bottom paint looked great and they didn't rush me back in the water and actually let the paint dry. My experience with this business was beyond exceptional and I would recommend them to anyone. The owner has been in business for 41 years and he is still out in the yard working and making sure the quality of work meets his standards. The amenities at the business are adequate. The only difficulty was there were limited supplies within walking distance. When we went to launch the boat, one of my repairs had water coming into the boat. I was panicked but the owner was extremely nice and said he didn't have another boat scheduled for the rest of the day so take my time and fix it right. He lifted me back up and let me stay in the sling to fix. I cannot say that he can do that for everyone depending on schedule but he definitely went above and beyond to make sure we were safe before we left.

Portsmouth Boating Center is a great location to get work done. Very professional, knowledgeable and super friendly and helpful! We were recommended to get hauled out here since we were in a catamaran with a 25ft beam. Not only did they do a super job getting us out of the water, but were very conscientious of doing it completely proper. There travel lift accommodated is and their lift was able to get work done on our 75ft mast. Highly recommend them.

They are kind, respectful, knowledgeable, and will do their very best to provide an experience second to none! If you are looking for a quality marina offering the best diesel fuel prices with high speed fuel pumps then go to Portsmouth Boating Center! Conveniently located near at the beginning of ICW. We have been coming here for many years with our 50' sportfish and Mike Davis has experience and integrity in all aspects of running his marina. He is “ hands on” and always strives for perfection. Excellent friendly staff.

No better marina in the Hampton roads the owner is great. The front office aways cares about your problems and takes care of them. And the marina staff is knowledgeable and helps with your problems. And a well stocked ship store with all your boating needs. And if they don’t have it they’ll get it for you.
