I have been a customer of Specialty Marine for several years, and have been consistently satisfied with their quality of repair work and service. I own a 1998, 20' Bayliner Trophy boat. Not big enough to handle everything that the Channel can dish up, but I am careful, and keep it at home in my driveway.. It came new, powdered by a Mercury Force 120 HP 2-stroke, that has required minimal repair over the years.. mostly done by Eric Peterson at Specialty Marine, and now by Scott and his crew after Eric has retired. Finally, getting to the point. My Mercury Force stopped pumping coolant water and needed a replacement impeller. Scott explained that because the Mercury Co. doesn't support that engine anymore I decided that my best option was to replace it, and re-power the boat. I went with a new Honda 115 HP motor. This review isn't about how satisfied wth my new motor [ I am absolutely thrilled with the quality and performance of my new Honda motor } but about Scott Wooden and his crew. The removal of the old Force, and installation of my new Honda motor is very professionally done. New shift controls, wiring to my Garmin depth finder/navagetion. screw-on type fuel filter, and a duel battery isolation setup. If you admire quality workmanship, like I do, this is it. The removal of the old motor, through transom bolts etc. left a mess, and Scott repaired and cleaned it up almost like new. I am a very satisfied customer.

I have a Honda 250 outboard that ended up having an electric intermittent problem that left me stranded at the islands. Took the boat to 2 different service providers that could not figure the problem out. I saw that Specialty Marine was a certified Honda dealer so I took the boat to them. Scott the owner personally took on my project with one of his lead mechanics. They were able to find the issue and correct the problem quickly at a very reasonable cost. I will for now on go nowhere but Specialty Marine! Thanks for the solid service Scott and Specialty Marine!

Have been taking my mercury outboard here for years now. Never have they tried to sell me on anything and have been honest, I wouldn’t usually write a review but seeing the two negative ones below me, I had too. Never got bad vibes from this place, I have recommended friends here and they were always happy with the work done and never had problems. I drive from Simi Valley here and wouldn’t take my motor anywhere else.

Scott and the entire Specialty Marine crew are nothing but professional, hardworking, and honest. I purchased a brand new Honda Outboard from them and every step was perfectly smooth from ordering the engine to final testing. They don't mark up their prices like other shops do and they are good to their word. I've taken different boats of mine to Specialty Marine for years and have never been disappointed. If you're looking for exceptional service at a great price look no further!

Keith C. 04 One minute ago Scott is amazing, I wish I could explain how amazing Specialty Marine has been. We ordered a motor for our coaches launch. (We a rowing up in the Chanel Islands harbor) They helped us with transportation of our launch. They cleaned our launch and installed the new motor and control box so fast and with so much expertise. I will only buy from Specialty Marine. Such an amazing experience I wish everything in life was like them. Awesome
