This past winter I reached out to Jack for consulting and design of a solar and lithium battery system for my Caliber 40 sailboat. As I am located in Florida his ability to advise and manage my project remotely was originally a concern. After discussing the project and following his detailed design I can say I couldn’t be happier with the result. We have just finished a 4 month cruise from Southwest Florida to and around Chesapeake Bay and the system performance was even better than planned! Jack’s ability to anticipate our needs and step by step instructions and advice made the project a great success. I look forward to working with Jack and Spirit Marine Services on future boat projects as our journey aboard continues.

Last summer my partner and I collaborated with Jack and Sonya at Spirit Marine Services for sailboat consulting services, and I have to say, I was thoroughly impressed with their knowledge and dedication to finding the perfect boat for me. From the very beginning, Jack and Sonya took the time to listen to our needs for a sailboat, and they provided valuable insights and advice on what to look for. They were extremely patient and attentive throughout the entire process, taking the time to answer all of my questions and concerns. These two offered themselves to look at prospective boats within their area, then make a Google link of all the pictures and photos of their experience. What I appreciated most about Jack and Sonya was their willingness to listen. They heard what we wanted then proposed we broaden our listings because we had narrowed our search --- then they toured the vessels with us. They knew all of the intricate details of what seemed off with an engine (thanks Jack!) or where to look for leaks (thanks Sonya!) and were able to point out both the pros and cons of each one. Their attention to detail was impressive, and I felt confident that they truly cared about helping us find the best possible boat for our cruising needs. Overall, I highly recommend Spirit Marine Services for sailboat consulting services. Jack and Sonya are knowledgeable, personable, and truly dedicated to helping their clients find the perfect boat. I met Jack and Sonya of Spirit Marine Services a few years ago when my boat was hauled for work. They were generous with their time, knowledge and even gear (lending me a tool I lacked for a specific job). And I quickly became aware of their reputation for quality work on multiple boat projects. So when I undertook the instillation of a new 12V charging system on my 35-foot boat, including a conversion to LiFePO4 batteries, addition of solar panels, and the upgrading of many other components I reached out to Spirit Marine Services for guidance. I'm glad I did! Jack was thoughtful and insightful in reviewing the system design and made excellent suggestions that greatly benefited the overall instillation. If you're considering undertaking electrical work on your boat I HIGHLY recommend Spirit Marine Services.

Jack has been very helpful consulting with us on the most cost-effective upgrades we should be focusing on to upgrade our electrical system so we can get more energy from our solar panels on our limited budget. We eventually want to upgrade our batteries to lithium, and we now have more confidence in the steps necessary to make progress on that goal.

We had a great experience with Jack and Sonya. They came over to our boat, and we sat together and pummeled them with questions about our electric system design, electronics, overall settings, and general questions about how to best maximize and set up our BMS, Cerbo, VRM and new Wakespeed. We had most of the work done already, but we were unsure about a few things that they helped us solve, and we so appreciated their easy going style and honesty when they weren’t 100% sure. Jack devours manuals like people read beachy romance novels, and it came in handy while we noodled a few puzzling issues onboard Lodos. When we are in the same town again, we hope to have them do a full written schematic of our boat, but that will have to wait for now as we sail north. They’re pretty much down for anything, and we would highly recommend them!
