  Aircraft Repair Solutions is a new aircraft repair facility conveniently and centrally located in the Tidewater seven cities area at the Hampton Roads Airport off Hwy 58. Although new as a start-up company employing eight employees, most veterans, there is nothing new about the mechanical and technical expertise this facility embodies in its people and infrastructure. John Layden, the Chief in Charge, hails from the local area as a veteran NADEP mechanic with over 45 years experience. While his maintenance history has touched nearly every aircraft in the DOD arsenal, he is equally a veteran expert in performing maintenance on the plethora of single engine and multi-engine aircraft in today’s General Aviation fleet. As a retired career military pilot and now GA aircraft owner of 22 years, I have personally had the benefit of trusting my aircraft and precious family crewmembers to the superb aviation mechanical skill sets and managerial oversight of John Layden and his expert staff. Most recently, ARS completed the annual inspection of my Rockwell Commander 112B and returned it to service with flawless attention to detail and impeccable log book accountability. Besides the required inspections, I requested five aircraft improvements and modifications in nearly every facet of the aircraft to include, engine, airframe, prop and avionics, even an IFR recertification. All work was validated by myself with an immediate post-maintenance checkflight proving once again over my history with this mechanic that he gets aviation maintenance “right the first time” and he is fair and honest in his billing. Before I discovered him 22 years ago, I sampled other facilities in the local and regional area. In my opinion, no one has come close to his work ethic and sense of responsibility. Whether you need a routine oil change, annual inspection, major repair with engineering sign-offs, wing replacement, new avionics panel, or any installation, this is the shop to trust.
