Bob is an untrustworthy mechanic. I purchased an airplane that he maintained for several years. That airplane has cost me over $30,000 in repairs within the two years that I’ve owned it. I purchased the airplane with a fresh annual from Bob. He signed the log books saying the airplane was airworthy when it was not airworthy. I’ve had multiple mechanics who have worked on my airplane tell me that Bob pencil whipped the log books and didn’t do most of the work he claimed he did. He used washers from a hardware store on my prop, an automotive cable on my battery , passed the airplanes annual with cracked wing walls, a leaky muffler, leaking exhaust header gaskets, missing gaskets and grommets, cylinders that had less than a hundred hours of life left in them, multiple ADs that had not been complied with and multiple other issues that should have been corrected. My first annual cost me $25,000. The plane left me stranded 300 miles away from home after I lost a cylinder on the ground. If it happened in the air I would probably be dead. If you want a safe airplane do not take it to Bob.

Davis Aircraft is an FAA testing center that truly stands out with its super friendly and welcoming atmosphere. While the facility is small with just a few computers, the overall experience is simple, efficient, and personable. The lady at the front desk is always adorable and incredibly friendly, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in. They also have a great selection of pilot supplies, including FAR/AIM books, charts, and other essentials, and surprisingly, the prices are often the same as online, which is a nice bonus. One of my favorite things about Davis Aircraft is the cats roaming around — they add a unique charm to the place. Some of them are incredibly friendly, and my personal favorite looks like a fluffy cloud! Recently, they even added a dog to the mix, which just adds to the overall welcoming vibe. If you're looking for a great place to take your FAA exams or pick up some aviation supplies, Davis Aircraft is definitely worth a visit.
