Duncan Marine and Outdoor Power

I’m not really sure what happened to their service department, but I would not recommend anyone take their boat there. They used to do good work several years ago, but something has changed. I took my boat in mid July for a tuneup, didn’t hear anything from them for a month, so I called to check in and they hadn’t even looked at it. They gave me an excuse about one of the mechanics being out on leave. I gave them another month and still hadn’t heard from them so I called, and they still hadn’t looked at it!! I told him I was just gonna come get it and take it somewhere else. The guy on the phone said “it says on the ticket that you’re having a problem getting out of the hole. You probably just need some spark plugs.” WHY DO YOU THINK I BROUGHT IT TO YOU?!? I wouldn’t recommend you have any actual work done there, but if you do need to store your boat somewhere for a couple of months for free, just take it to them and ask them to work on it!!

I took my boat in for a water pump change. And a seal leak at the water pump seal. They said it would take 2 weeks. Small oil leak. Took it April 9 th. I’ve called I’ve gone by and talked with everyone there. It’s now August 3 rd no word from them. It’s been 4 months. The entire summer without my boat. Every time I talk to them they say it will be 2 weeks before they look at it. They still haven’t even looked at it. I’ve been really nice about it but something has to give. My patience has worn out. This has been a nightmare.

So far this year, i have purchased 3 lithiums and an agm battery, charger and dual power poles from Duncan. All has gone well and I have been impressed with their professionalism in helping me meet and understand my boat's needs. Their prices have been on par with those found online and it is a plus to have Duncan's quality, in person, customer service. Taylor was also helpful with the installation of the power poles. I have and will continue to recommend Duncan to others.
