Fortman Marina is, by far, one of the best marinas in NorCal! I've known the Harbor Master, Mark, for over 30 years, and have kept a boat there for just as long. Mark has always had friendly & helpful staff, clean bathrooms, and he's a fantastic resource when I've needed marine advice - whether with a solution or a strong recommendation. I wouldn't keep my boat anywhere else!

Great rates, nice location and a responsive harbor master and crew! It does not have concrete docks and it is a never ending project of putting in new docks and fixing things up here and there - but the rates reflect that and I have to root for a Harbor Master that actually gets his hands dirty working on the marina himself! They also have some covered spaces so we have several old woodies that are a pleasure to see coming and going. Fortman is on the lee side of the island so the winds are light, the water calm, and the temps are warmer. The Alameda/Oakland estuary is a nice place to experience, with Jack London Square nearby and docks there for refueling and a breakfast, lunch or diner hook. The included photo is Greg our harbor master fixing the roof of one of the covered berths.

Fortman is a clean and well manicured facility in the Oakland Alameda Estuary. There is Grand Marina Boatyard right next door. The weather in that area tends to be nicer than other parts of the bay. Buy a BoatUS Unlimited Gold membership for your vessel. It is a no brainer!

I had heard of this place before but had never been there. It's a surprisingly nice, clean, seemingly secure Little harbor with some nice boats in it. I was over there to help with an inspection of a classic motor vessel and was quite impressed by the place.

The hidden gem of Alameda Marinas. This Marina has the calmest waters due to its location, has the shortest walk to the parking lot, and an amazing view of Oakland from the other side of the estuary.
