Gibbs Flying Service

I would give them zero stars if possible. I had a radio go bad and they are a Garmin dealer so I called in June to get a quote and schedule an install. Doug reassured me that they could get a new radio installed in late July when I would be in town. (I'm based in CO but travel to KMYF a lot) After the initial conversation they stopped returning phone calls and emails etc. One week before I was to fly into town Doug FINALLY called me back and said "We are too busy, we have too many ADS-B upgrades to handle right now, I suggest you find someone else to do your radio install." Well thanks a lot for nothing Doug, had I known that in June when I first called y'all I would have just moved on and found a different shop. Now I still have a broken radio and have to start the whole process over with another shop. I would NOT RECOMMEND them for ANY work. totally unreliable and terrible customer service.

Such a cool place at KMYF. Unfortunately due to CoVid, the inside area is only available for using the restroom. The ramp is roomy and the fuel truck guys are very nice. Keep up the good work..... (Soon to be part of CrownAir)

sorry to all those who gave five stars... the woman that answered the phone when I called for info prior to flying into MYF was awesome - on the phone and in person. My contacts with her were on weekdays. Thanks to her for awesome support. Now, Saturday was a whole 'nother story! The woman behind the desk was busy on her cell phone, the man behind the desk was flight planning on the computer; I ushered in a couple who wanted access to the ramp and it was difficult to get the two behind the counter to understand what these folks wanted (I would not let them go thru the locked gate per airport safety protocol), without much thought they were given the gate access code. Then the fun began for me - trying to get them to stand up and assist me in paying my bill! It was frustrating to get the information I needed, and the paperwork to be completed. And I asked about a couple of bottles of water for the flight home and was told what the charge would be. I responded that I was surprised as most FBOs that I have been to have water no charge for the pilots - so I was given two bottles of water - thanks. The staff on Saturday seemed to be uninterested in providing service, made themselves unavailable mentally and otherwise. I would have liked to ask a few departure questions, get local information for departure, etc. Not sure if I will go to Gibbs again if I fly into the San Diego area.
