The Santa Fe Regional Airport (SAF) is a breath of fresh air compared to major hubs. It is super convenient and small, making the travel experience incredibly low-stress. After getting dropped off, I checked my bags and was through TSA within 10 minutes—it's hard to beat that kind of efficiency. While the food service is a bit limited, the airport makes up for it in character. There is a great gift store stocked with locally produced items that are perfect for picking up a unique last-minute souvenir. The absolute highlight, however, was the outdoor seating. It’s not often you get to sit outside at an airport and watch planes take off and land in such a beautiful setting. There was even an old Soviet-era MiG on the tarmac, which was a very cool surprise for aviation fans. If you’re flying into or out of the area, this is a fantastic regional airport that prioritizes ease and local charm.

Quaint regional airport. Beautiful building. Easy to get in and out. The only negative is the TSA. The entrance is in the center of the building. When it is near flight departure times, the lines for TSA get long and the terminal area gets very congested as the ticket counters and rental car desks share the same small space.

SAF is a small, newly renovated regional airport with friendly staff, easy access, and minimal wait times. Food options are limited to a single coffee shop, so bringing your own snacks helps. Boarding requires climbing a few stairs since there’s no jet bridge, and smaller planes may check in your carry‑ons if you board late. But they will hand it over on arrival gate. Overall, a smooth and convenient airport experience.

Very small regional airport with one terminal, located about 25 minutes from downtown Santa Fe. Easy car rental check our and returns. One TSA aecuroty line, which only opens about 1.5 hours before scheduled flights. There is a cute, small cafe past the security check. The highlight is a shaded outdoor lounge which looks out onto the runway. Everyone (except the Avis car rental people) were friendly. Very easy to navigate this small airport.

Simple, efficient, and charming little airport. The broader Santa Fe metropolitan area has a population of like 150,000, and I honestly expected a slightly larger airport. I guess the majority of travelers fly into and out of ABQ (only 60 miles north). Personally, I enjoy the smaller airport experience. TSA line is super short, staff is friendly, and restrooms are clean. Food options are limited, some basic vending machines pre security and small café in the actual terminal serving quick bites. Airlines are limited to only United and American, and majority of flights are going to and from DEN and DFW. Uber is available, although wait times can be long. Overall, I had a pleasant experience flying out of this airport.
