For over 10 years I planned to bring my boat north and then do the trip to Alaska. Prior to this trip, I spent significant time looking for a yard for a refit on my 20 year old boat (that I bought new in Maine). I do a lot of wood work and have build several boats so I was very "picky" when it came to a yard to work with. I talked with yards from Tacoma to Vancouver and ended up with Seaview North. I was extremely nervous as I've used many boatyards in my 40 years of boating, but this place is the best yard I've ever worked with (recall... I'm picky). I'm also frugal given I do a lot of work myself given my prior boat building projects and their prices were (in my mind) more than fair. Plus, the quality was outstanding. Work included complete exterior (hull and topsides) repaint, plus added cabinets (matched to Maine woodwork quality) and finish up multiple mechanical projects (finish installing my diesel heater, Cummins engine work, etc.).. Unfortunately, like any project, we discovered a large amount of water damage intrusion, so they addressed that as well (not easy, as had to remove lots of teak trim to access and then replace). BUT.... what makes a great shop is how they respond when something goes wrong. We had a mis-communication on the hull paint and the boot strap was painted wrong. They responded in the most professional way and that is the sign of a great company. I live in Calyfornia and loved my trip to Alaska this summer. I'll be back in 3 years for another "Bellingham boat spa treatment" as it's worth the trucking price for me to come here. Hats off to Aaron (yard manager) and Tiel (owner) AND all the real workers that do the work!. I can't be a bigger fan of this operation.

Seaview Boatyard was great to work with. Frank was our service manager, and he did a great job in keeping us informed, and more importantly ensuring we understood our options. He was straightforward with the costs, ensuring there were no surprises. We are normally DIY, and Seaview coordinated their work with our projects to ensure a smooth yard period. All of the workers we interacted with(admin, store, painters) were helpful, personable, and professional. All the work Seaview did exceeded our expectations. Thanks!

I just watched the company truck back into another car leaving the coconut grove bar at about 9 on 1/26 and take off without informing anyone. Just thought I should let someone know.

Timely work done on our trawler in tough winter conditions. Crew working on our boat were respectful and performed quality work. I highly recommend this business

We have had our Nordlund 65 serviced by Seaview North for the past 5 years D have nothing but good things to say about the competence, professionalism and honesty of this yard. If they do not think they have the in house expertise to handle a particular job, they will tell you and recommend an outside contractor instead of pretending to know how to address an issue and then mess it up like other yards do (fake it till you make it approach). From the yard manager (Kyle) to their in house techs and the VERY competent administrator (Marissa) these are the nicest folks to do business with. The owner, Phil Riise is very kind, fair and understanding always willing to listen to the customers concerns. My wife and I are both licensed USCG Captains with 100 years combined experience with both sale and power. We have delivered boats up and down the West Coast from Glacier Bay to Puerto Vallarta and very rarely give a yard or vendor such a glowing review.
