I hired Your Boat Shop to perform work on my motor vessel. A pre-purchase survey had noted corrosion on the engine mounts but did not recommend replacement. After inspecting the vessel, Your Boat Shop recommended replacing the engine mounts, and I authorized the work. Less than 20 operating hours after the engine mount replacement was completed, the port transmission failed while underway. Prior to the work, a pre-purchase survey and gearbox oil analysis reported no abnormal wear metals, drivetrain vibration, shaft issues, or indications of transmission distress. After the failure, Harbor Marine, a ZF-authorized service facility, documented approximately 0.010" of coupling misalignment and found the port shaft seized in the cutlass bearing. An independent SAMS-accredited marine surveyor later inspected the vessel and documented extensive internal transmission damage (included in photos). In the surveyor's report, he stated that it was his professional opinion that the failure sequence (shaft misalignment, seizure of the port shaft in the cutlass bearing, catastrophic failure of the intermediate shaft tapered roller bearing, and resulting transmission failure) was precipitated by shaft misalignment following the recent engine mount replacement. The resulting repairs exceeded $25,000. I notified Your Boat Shop after the failure and asked the company to participate in the investigation. The company declined to become involved, and I proceeded with independent inspections to determine the condition of the drivetrain and transmission. Based on my experience, the documented findings, and the company's decision not to participate in the investigation, I would not use this company again.

Had my bottom painted and a few other projects. It was professionally done with great communication. I'm more than pleased and will be back for the next haul-out.

It was easy to schedule the work, and the work was done on time. I had the bottom scoff sanded and painted. They researched which paint was compatible with the previous job. I also did some other work on the boat, and they were very friendly and helpful with that.

When the original builders of my Nexus Marine 23 foot Chinook retired needed to find a new shop to complete the barely started restoration. She is African mahogany plywood, epoxy saturated. Launched in 1990. Needed complete refinishing and upgrades. New cabin sole, new instruments, new electrical system, new anchor windless. She is almost done and I am ecstatically impressed. All the work is first class. The photo is from 1992, when the work is done I will post a current photo

My experience with Your boat shop was excellent! I have been looking to make repairs to my 1996 Grady White’s fiberglass for some time. After visiting the shop I was impressed with what they were working on and the skill level of the repairs they performed. I received a fair quote and a good timeline for my repairs. The communication between the shop and myself was great and the work was exceptional. I would definitely recommend them for your boating needs. I feel like I have a new boat! Thanks to the whole crew.
